"Ethereum rollups and the Layer 3 network, Validium, are the only way to scale Web3 to Internet scale," Polygon (MATIC) co-founder Sandeep Nailwal told X. "Scalability and interoperability will need to be addressed in the future. "The user experience and cross-chain compatibility issues (of Web3) will be addressed in the future. The current TPS (transactions per second) is not enough, and interoperability needs to be seamless, with the freedom to choose different virtual machines and decentralization profiles. Polygon is working to create this future by building a unified blockchain network."
What is Validium?
Blockchain's Validium is one of the first Layer 2 scaling solutions based on blockchain technology. Validium is a technology designed to address the speed and scalability issues faced by traditional blockchains. Validium operates independently of the blockchain and processes transactions outside of the blockchain. This is called off-chain processing. This allows it to address the latency and cost issues that occur on the blockchain.
