Ethereum faces criticism over narrative, Vitalik's AI praised?

Meltem Demirors, chief strategy officer at crypto investment fund Coin Shares, said in a recent YouTube broadcast that "Ethereum (ETH) has been hampered in its narrative by the rise of layer-1 blockchains," according to the Daily Hoarder. "For many new entrants to the next bull cycle, ETH will not be a consideration, which will fundamentally change the market dynamics. Bitcoin has a unique narrative of being 'digital gold,' but ETH has a more complex roadmap, and that narrative is suffering in comparison. People have a sense of security in holding BTC, but not ETH, and ETH maximalists (investors who praise only one cryptocurrency) are rare. There are also questions about its ability to maintain market share in the future as more Layer 1 projects come to market."

Amid the criticism, Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin said, "I think the application is formal verification of code and finding bugs using AI," adding, "The biggest technical risk for Ethereum right now is code bugs, and if we can change that game significantly, that would be great." It'll be interesting to see if Ethereum puts AI on the roadmap for Narrative.
