According to TheBlock's own data, BTC options trading volume across all exchanges hit a record $38 billion in December, with the largest volume on Deribit ($26.7 billion worth). Options volumes on OKX and Binance also saw an upward trend, while the Chicago Mercantile Exchange's (CME) BTC options volume also surpassed its all-time high at $23.9 billion. "Combining BTC and ETH, the total open interest is around $11 billion, with $5 billion worth of open interest expiring at 17:00 UTC on the 29th," said Luuk Strijers, Chief Commercial Officer at Deribit.
