A third-party acquisition of Grayscale is a possibility, according to Coindesk, citing multiple industry sources. Grayscale holds the most bitcoin among institutional investors, and while asset managers are catching up with the recent approval of BTC spot ETFs, it remains an influential player in the industry. Nate Geraci, CEO of ETFstore, said: "The BTC spot ETFs are only two weeks old, but they are very competitive. Traditional asset managers may want to consider acquiring existing crypto firms." "It is possible that Grayscale could be acquired by another firm, but it could take a long time given the issues surrounding its parent company (Digital Currency Group)," said Bloomberg Intelligence analyst James Seifart. Meanwhile, the cumulative outflow of Grayscale's GBTC stood at $3.45 billion as of Nov. 23.
