South Korean convenience store chain E-Mart 24 is selling lunch boxes with Bitcoin
E-Mart 24, a convenience store, has partnered with Bithumb, South Korea's leading cryptocurrency exchange, to sell “Bitcoin Lunch Boxes” starting on the 8th (local time). The price is KRW 5900 ($4.2) in Korean won. The Bitcoin LunchBox comes with a coupon that can be used to receive up to KRW 30,000 won ($21) worth of Bitcoin. You can get 10,000 won worth of Bitcoin by entering the QR code on the Bithumb app, entering the coupon number, completing customer verification, and agreeing to receive SMS. Only one registration per person is allowed.
The Bitcoin Luch Box can be ordered through the E-Mart 24 mobile app's 'Reservation Pickup' feature. When you reserve a Bitcoin lunch box through the mobile app, you can pick up the product at a store of your choice on a date of your choice. Customers who purchase a Bitcoin lunch box through reservation pickup will receive a KRW 3,000 won ($2.1) discount coupon that can be used for purchases of 10,000 won or more at E-Mart 24 stores.
The joint marketing with cryptocurrency exchanges will also be carried out by utilizing the fact that a bank account is required to use cryptocurrency exchanges in Korea. Users without an NH Bank account can receive an additional KRW 20,000 won ($14.2) worth of bitcoin. If you purchase a $4.2 lunch box, you can get up to $21 worth of bitcoin.
