Crypto 'Fear-Greed Index' shifts to 79 extreme greed... most 'greedy' since November 2021
Crypto data provider Alternative's self-assessed 'Fear-Greed Index' rose nine points from the previous day to 79. The improvement in sentiment moved the index from the greedy stage to the extreme greed stage.
This is the first time the index has shown extreme greed in about a month, since January 11, but the highest reading since November 2021. The index reads close to 0, indicating extreme fear in the market, and close to 100, indicating extreme optimism. The Fear Greed Index is calculated based on volatility (25%), trading volume (25%), social media mentions (15%), surveys (15%), bitcoin market capitalization (10%), and Google searches (10%).
