With Franklin Templeton, a global asset manager and one of the first issuers of a bitcoin spot ETF, filing an application to launch an Ethereum (ETH) spot ETF with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) last night, Ark Invest CEO Cashwood said in a Wall Street Journal (WSJ) podcast interview, "I don't think the SEC will approve a spot ETF for cryptocurrencies other than bitcoin," but Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart, who specializes in ETH, told X that there's a 60 percent chance an ETH spot ETF will be approved. "I wouldn't say there's a 0% chance of SEC approval. But it's a lot less certain than it was with the bitcoin spot ETF."
